Step 5: Here you can select all the configurations like VPCs and Subnets, but we will go with the default VPC since we are doing a demo setup.

Step 6: In this part we also have various EC2 machine configuration parameters including user data, here we can pass any bootstrap script we want to run when our machine is running.

Step 7: This is where you add or change your car’s storage capacity. You can increase the deposit or add an additional deposit to the car.

Add other EBS volumes to the machine and here we don’t select the Delete option when done, which means that even if we shut down this machine, our volumes and the data on them are safe.

Step 8: Tag your vehicle by purpose for easy vehicle identification.

Step 11: The key pair helps you access your instance, so create a new one or use one if you already have one. It’s important to keep it safe, very safe indeed. Download the key pair and click launch instance.

We cannot change the root volume of an EC2 instance while it is running. But of course, we can assign a larger value to the root volume when provisioning the instance while adding storage.

We can add additional EBS volumes to an EC2 as it is being created and even after it is created and launched.

Select Attach Volume from the drop-down menu as shown in the image and select the EC2 you want to attach the volume to and we’re good to go.
