Two years ago I started working as a delivery person at Kangaroo Direct, an Amazon delivery service partner. We will deliver to Amazon customers in the Baltimore, Maryland area. I met some great customers as a driver – some of whom recognized me from previous deliveries and left me thank you notes and some thank you notes along the way.

Recently, working with the new Rivian vans has been one of the best things about my job. We’ve had these for several months now, so I’m familiar with all the new ones. The biggest difference between the new models and the previous models is that they are electric. They are much quieter compared to gas powered vans. There are also many new, technological features that help to work a little easier and safer – especially as a conditional seat!
One of my favorite parts of the new vanity is the display built into the instrument cluster. It displays real-time travel information, customer information and other delivery details.
The panel can also be used to control the seats, heated steering wheel, defrosting, air conditioning and temperature.

A sound system in the beginning is also excellent. I can listen to everything from R&B to EDM and listen to instructions on the way.
The 360 degree camera showed me everything around the first signs. It really improves my vision and reduces my blind spots.
As soon as the first train is parked, the fare area door opens automatically. There are lights in the front too, which helps with daytime delivery.

Next Mile is powered by Instride and inspired by Amazon’s career choice program, which offers college tuition to 750,000 Amazon employees. The Next Mile provides drivers who are participating DSPs with consistent access to skills-based programs, GETs and degrees across the country. As part of the training program, participants also have access to career paths to choose from, which help them determine their academic programs and career options based on their skills and interests. The next mile offer will be available to drivers of participating DSPs from January 2023 onwards.
After four years of building and innovating, the Delivery Service Partner program has helped nearly 3,000 entrepreneurs mount their businesses, employ 275,000 drivers and deliver more than 10 million packages per day.

Thanks to our long-term partnership with DSP owners, the DSP program is successful, with over 70% of DSP drivers saying retirement savings is a big benefit. We decided to offer all US-based DSPs access to a 401(k) plan to help DSPs learn more about their drivers and plan for their future investments. We will pay DSPs $60 million in the first year to help balance DSPs’ matching costs between employee contributions and retirement savings and future success, and we will reimburse 100% of administrative costs for DSPs who receive benefits through a preferred provider. . We are excited that DSPs will provide a significant benefit in helping teams plan for their financial future.
